The Springfield Museums at the Quadrangle and the Springfield City Library will host “LittleFest,” an event to promote a love of reading in young children, on Thursday, August 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities planned for outdoors will be held inside if it rains.
LittleFest is presented in conjunction with WGBY-57. The event is supported in part by the Irene E. and George A. Davis Foundation. LittleFest activities are free, but non-Springfield residents must pay museum admission to participate in indoor activities held in the museums.

Martha from the PBS Kids show Martha Speaks will make appearances throughout the day; Springfield Science Museum

Scheduled Performances
Storyteller and musician John Porcino presents two performances of Reading Magic; Central Library Community Room, 10:30-11:15 a.m. and 1-1:45 p.m.
Brian Chevalier presents two performances of Rock and Read, a musical reading show; Quadrangle Green, 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and 2-2:45 p.m.
The Springfield Museums are located on the Quadrangle at 21 Edwards Street in downtown Springfield . Free parking is available in the Edwards Street parking lots. Summer hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.. Admission is $12.50 for adults, $9 for seniors and college students, $6.50 for children 3-17, and free for children under three and museum members. General admission is free for Springfield residents with proof of address.
Free admission is also available through Labor Day for military personnel and their families through a partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Blue Star Museums program. Military visitors must present a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card, or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, including those stamped URW and DB. These include active duty military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard), National Guard and Reserve members, and up to five immediate family members.
