It's that time of year for our celebration of all things anime! Chibiconn VII will be happening at Springfield's Central Library, 220 State Street, on Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11. Teens into anime and manga will love Saturday's anime “film” festival, with 14 episodes of a variety of cool TV series, such as One Piece and Negima, rated 13 and older. We'll also be showing Revolutionary Girl Utena and Boogypop Phantom, which are rated 15 years and older.

On Sunday, again at the Central Library, 220 State Street, we'll host day two of Chibiconn VII, with an Anime Trivia Contest from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Costume and Skit Contests will run from 2-3 p.m., and the art judging and prizes will take place from 3:00-3:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear original, anime-inspired costumes, and according to contest guidelines, no props are allowed, all costumes should be hand-made, not professionally made, and costumes should be appropriate for a family environment. Art entries should have the artist's name and contact number on the piece. Artists may submit as many pieces as they like, but each artist may only claim one prize. All art pieces must be submitted by 2 p.m. on September 11 to be judged. All judges' rulings will stand final.
